This 1910 Hupmobile model 20 Roadster has been beautifully restored and carefully maintained. It has a 4 cylinder engine, with 112 cubic inches, and a 2 speed transmission with reverse of course.  The pedal controls include brake, accelerator and clutch, with the accelerator in the center.   The headlamps are acetylene – note the vents on the lamps, and the acetylene generator mounted on the runningboard.

This car starts easily and drives nicely.  It is a frequent participant in the local HCCA “Holiday motor tour” through Pasadena.

Here’s a video of the Hupmobile in action. It was started from dead cold.

The perfect embodiment of the pre world war I  sporty roadster, in spectacular condition!  Clearly visible here is the bulb horn.

It’s an AACA trophy winner.

The Kerosene tail lamp is another perfect touch.  This car has just the right accessories, it is both beautifully and tastefully presented.

Nicely detailed engine bay! It is a 112 cubic inch four cylinder engine. The device directly in front of us with the 2 tubes running down is the oiler, which sends oil to the crankcase.  It’s a total loss oil system.

Wow!  note the magneto ignition, and the priming cups for cold weather starts.  The car only needs the priming cups in very cold weather, otherwise it starts easily with the crank.

The technical features of the early cars always fascinate me.  Note the forward mounted flywheel.

Pretty brass

Bucket seats!  Note the control on the steering column, that is a friction throttle control to allow the carburetor to stay open while you crank the car.

This car won an AACA trophy in 2002, and I think it would still be show competititve today!

The acetylene headlamps were restored, they’re beautiful!

Hupmobile step plates. This car is very authentic and correct.

Nice clean rear axle, and correct style muffler

Here’s the magneto side – you can clearly see the “Bosch” logo on the magneto.  There’s no battery on this car – it runs on the magneto, and the headlamps run on acetylene and the side and tail lamps run on kerosene.

There’s the tail lamp, beautifully done in brass.

Lovely steering wheel.  Everywhere you look, this car is beautiful.  High quality work throughout.
