Here is the most beautiful and unusual 1928 Ford Pickup that I have seen!  It’s been beautifully restored and tastefully modified, with the centerpiece a Miller overhead valve cylinder head on a “C” Ford Block!  The hood side panels are off for a reason, to show off that exotic motor!

The body is of course all steel, and the prep and paint were done by the famous Bill “Birdman” Stewart of the So Cal Speed shop in Pomona. It is absolutely arrow straight, no rust anywhere, and the paint is deep, smooth, and of the highest quality.

The painted grille shell is another tasteful and subtle touch.  If you look closely, you can see the 1940 Ford Hydraulic brakes.  This car has been done in a way that pays tribute to the rodders of old, but done in a finished, professional, high quality way. No Rat Rod un-finished surfaces here!

And on this side, we can see the dual Stromberg carburetors atop a vintage Evans manifold, the Miller cylinder head and the custom made exhaust headers. Note the contrasting big & little wire wheels.

Beautiful Oak Bed with chrome rails.

Another view of the bed.  Note how smooth the sheetmetal is .

Unbelievably crisp sheetmetal, and fabulous paint!

Miller Cylinder head, Evans intake manifold, Dual Strombergs – a very impressive street rod engine.  And it makes power!  You will be amazed at how fast this car is!  It’s also highway geared, and can be driven comfortably at Freeway speeds.  And, because of the individual exhaust ports , it has a deep, powerful sound.

Here’s the engine side plate, showing the Miller name.  This engine has pressure oiling, and all of the improvements made to the model “A” 4 cylinder for it’s final year of production. This Cylinder head was originally designed by Leo Goosen, the guy who worked for Miller, and who ultimately worked for Offenhauser.  Some serious design talent went into the original plans for this cylinder head!

Wow!

The Miller cylinder head is insanely rare .  Note the 12 Volt alternator, and the general cleanliness of the engine bay.

Clean underneath, too!  We get a better view of the ’40 Ford hydraulic brakes here.

Very clean undercarriage.

Excellent interior – that shifter meets up with a 1939 Ford 3 speed transmission – again, a tribute to the way it would have been done back in the early Hot Rodding days

Excellent and authentic looking vynil interior

Beautiful Oak body wood, polished and exposed to view!

Excellent heavy grain top material.  It’s rare to see a car with so many professionally done and authentic touches.

Lovely restored steering wheel

And excellent powdercoated wire wheels

Impressive

So many good details

When you arrive at the street rod show in this,  you know you’re driving something unique, a car with an engine that is so rare, one that evokes the very beginnings of the Hot Rod movement, that you’ll be guaranteed a crowd around the car!
