This 1930 LaSalle is has been a resident of California since at least  the late 1960’s, and the recipient of a very high quality restoration in the late 1970’s or early 1980’s.   After purchasing it from it’s long term owner – since 1971 ! – we have taken it from it’s careful indoor storage and woken it up.  The excellence of the original restoration made the wake-up an easy task, including fuel tank service and a brand new radiator core and a new carburetor float from Classic & Exotic Service.  It’s loaded with accessories, and it’s a beautiful car! Better yet, it has it’s original body wood, with correct stampings that show it left the factory as a rumbleseat roadster.

.

This view shows my favorite aspect of this car – the fold-flat windshield!  It’s the icing on the cake!  Also visible in this photo are the dual pilot rays, and the flying lady hood ornament, optional on the LaSalle.  Dual sidemounts were also optional, as were the dual Lorraine spotlights.

.

Here it is in profile – absolutely stunning!

.

The chrome plating is beautiful

.

Here it is with the top up. This is a Fleetwood body, body type 4002

.

Lovely!

.

Here’s the trunk, which includes fitted luggage!  Also note the Black California license plate with current registration, which has been on the car since the 1960’s.  They started the Blue license plates in 1969.

.

Beautiful!  Note the locking gas cap and three steps for rumbleseat access.

.

Another great accessory visible here – the Rumbleseat Windshield! It folds up and fits down into the rumbleseat well when not in use.

.

Isn’t that cool?

.

A rarely seen and unique accessory

.

Here it is stowed.

.

Lorraine Spotlights with beautiful chrome.  All of the chrome on this car is excellent.

.

The flying lady is ready for her Close-up!

.

The top is in excellent shape.  And, all the snap posts are nice and solid, the snaps work properly.  You can see a few spots of paint cracking just below the top on the upper surface of the deck.

.

Top bows in excellent condition, with nice chrome and proper operation.

.

Beautiful rear view mirror with beveled edge.

.

Beautiful dash and interior!

.

Properly trimmed in leather.

.

Excellent.  Note the knob on the far left side, it is the spark control knob. The dash and instruments are in excellent shape, and they all work except the clock. Also note the steering wheel was painted when it was restored, and there are a number of scratches and scrapes now.

.

.

Very clean engine bay – and it runs as good as it looks, too, with excellent oil pressure, quiet operation and good power.  The restorer did an excellent job on this car!

.

Also note the porcelain on the exhaust and intake manifolds – absolutely beautiful!

.

Beautiful!

.

The Vacuum tank works great.  It also has an electric fuel pump to fill the vacuum tank when the car has been stored for a while.

.

Pretty and correct. The 340 Cubic inch engine runs great!

.

High quality and attention to detail are the hallmarks of this engine!

.

there are a few paint flaws & chips, these on the right side lower fender.

.

Here’s a touched up spot near the doorhandle bezel.
