Harley Earl, the chief of the GM Art and Color section, said of the 1941 Cadillac Design: ” I want the customer to be able to walk around the entire car and be dazzled on the entire trip!”  And the designers succeeded in a big, big way! The car was revolutionary in its use of chrome accents, in its massive horizontal grille, and it’s spectacular dashboard.  Harley Earl was right then, and he’s still right – the 1941 Cadillac is the most sought-after year in the pre-war Cadillac universe!

.

This is a Series 62 Convertible Coupe, so it’s a Full Classic Car Club of America CCCA Classic, eligible for all CCCA shows, tours, and CAR-AVANS.  The paint is gorgeous, the bodywork very straight!

.

A very, very dramatic view of the grille.  The chrome on this car is very nice!

.

Any way you look at it this is a beautiful car.  The paint is recent, the leather interior is fresh, the car runs great, and it’s fun to drive.

.

There it is with the top down!

.

Dramatic with the top lowered!

.

.

Beautiful !

.

The grille was rechromed, and they did a really nice job – no pits, nice and smooth like it’s supposed to be.  Overall the chrome on this car is very good.

.

Nice! Nice chrome, nice reflection in the black paint!

.

Nice and straight !

.

Wow !

.

Black is a great color on the ’41 Cadillac, the chrome lights up and really accents the design.

.

I’m being fussy but I’d like the hood to fit a little better, it sits a bit too far forward relative to the cowl.

.

Great hood ornamement, which of course doubles as the hood latch !

.

Another brilliant styling move – the gas filler hidden below the tailight reflector.  And look at that reflector, a masterpiece of streamline moderne design!

.

Note the red wheels

.

Nice engine bay, with correctly porcelainized exhaust manifolds, and proper heat wrapping on the exhaust pipe.  All stock and authentic.

.

Here’s the driver’s side of the 346 cubic inch Cadillac V-8 Engine.  Note the new Rhode Island wiring harness, done in the correct cloth backing.

.

Another shot showing the new wiring harness, and the cowl area.

.

Beautiful and fresh leather interior, with new carpeting as well.

.

Excellent dashboard done in body color – note that’s a correct and authentic treatment in 1941, you could have either body color or the woodgrained dash.  Also note the heater cover is missing.

.

The Steering wheel and shift knob have been beautifully re-cast.  They look like new!

.

Gorgeous Steering wheel!

.

.

Excellent doorpanels done in leather

.

Nice step plates and Fisher Body tag.

.

Nice dashboard chrome.

.

Comfortable room for 5 people, 6 if you are really good friends!

.

Nicely trimmed in Leather

.

.

Nicely trimmed trunk.

.

Nicely finished inner trunk lid.

.

Top boot is included.

.

Nicely done top, properly rechromed top irons, correct small rear glass window.

.

Nicely trimmed visors, and another view of the top irons.

.

There are a few things about this car that I would like to be better, here’s an example – the chrome on the left window frame could be redone.  Let’s go through the things that could be better:  – the auxillary temp guage, the missing heater cover, the wipers don’t work, The hood fit is a little off,  the radio doesn’t work, the passenger window spring is weak, there’s a small crack on the windshield,  and the rear fender rubber gravel shields aren’t installed right, the fasteners aren’t correct.  The driver door and fender make contact, so there’s a wear spot / chip.

.

In summary, it’s not a show car, and would need some things to be that way.   However, there is so much about this car that’s nice, that at this reasonable price there’s room to either enjoy it as it is or to make some improvements and still be ahead!

.

The car has a great presence in triple black, and will be a super addition to any collection!

.

A final view of the deep black paint, the excellent Firestone “Gum Dipped” whitewall tires, and the incredibly good styling of the 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Coupe!
