This 1947 Lincoln Continental Cabriolet has been beautifully restored by John Adrain, for whose estate we now offer the car.  John was obsessive, and he took his time doing the work.   John was a family friend, as well as my landlord at the old Vault Classic Cars location .He was a great guy, respected by everyone in the car hobby, and we’re all very sorry to know he’s gone.

It’s done in Moss green, a wonderful and subtle color. The paint is of extremely high quality PPG Duracryl acrylic lacquer.

We can see every branch of that tree in the reflection, the paint job is just spectacular!

The chrome was prepared by Charles Sihilling, someone who is well known in the classic car metal finishing industry.  All that die-cast chrome is gorgeous, fresh looking and pit-free.

Note the lines for hydraulic power for the windows and the electrical cables for the window switch.  The hydraulic system was completely redone – looks stock but has a modern hydraulic motor and uses Dexron Automatic transmission fluid, a huge improvement over the original brake fluid!

Beautifully done Lincoln V-12 Engine bay!  The engine was rebuilt by Pick’s Racing engines to stock and authentic configuration.  Although not the original engine to this car, it’s correct and authentic and it runs great.

Note the new and correct wiring harness

IMG_4571.

Even the inner fenderwells are beautiful!  Also note the battery – it’s a stock correct looking case that has an optima 6 volt battery inside.

Beautifully finished underhood, and horns!

IMG_4439.

Voltage regulator and overdrive box near all the nice, new wires.

John didn’t quite live long enough to totally sort the car out, the 3 speed manual transmission works great but the overdrive does not work, and we’re not sure why, so it’s being sold with a non-working factory overdrive.  Some of the lights may also need attention, and the speedometer doesn’t work.  There are about 15 miles on the car since it was restored, so it would make sense for the new owner (you)  to sort it out before taking it on tour.

It’s a gorgeous car !
