This 1949 Ford Woody is a work of professionally built art! It is full of subtle touches – the build quality is the highest! It was done by Barry White’s StreetRods in Corona, CA,  with cost-no-object ! The final build cost was OVER $300,000 ! Only the best components and the highest quality work were applied to this beautiful and functional Woody!  It has every modern convenience – Air Conditioning, Hidden Stereo, Power everything, Disc Brakes,  and more, more, more!  Ridiculous horsepower is provided by a Supercharged LS-1 V-8.

.

Only the best craftsmen applied their talents – Chris Messano was responsible for the woodwork, Gabe Lopez planned and stitched the amazing leather interior, and Marcel’s custom metal fabricated the custom smoothed firewall and fender aprons.

.

Partial trades of high quality Authentic Classics, brass antique automobiles,  Sportscars,  Musclecars, 50’s, 60’s and ’70’s collector cars will be considered.  We do NOT want Motorcycles, Motor Homes, Boats, or real estate or wine as part exchange!

Yes it’s a Ford Woody, but it’s also a totally custom creation.  The sheetmetal was formed and smoothed to present the most elegant appearance, the wood is hand-built, hand fitted and hand-finished by Chris Messano, with a depth and clarity  and character not often seen in wooden cars.

The stance – a combination of the custom and rarely seen SRRC billet aluminum wheels and the suspension is just exactly perfect, and it’s achieved the old fashioned way with comfortable and driveable springs and coil-over shocks. Those wheels were custom made for this car – they are one of one custom wheels.

IMG_5226.

SRRC Wheels, 4 wheel Wilwood disc brakes, and a very low stance!  Attention to detail like this did not come cheap!

IMG_5227.

The woodwork is spectacular – you can see the character in the wood, it’s almost alive when the sunlight hits it!

IMG_5230.

Only a professional could get the wood to show like this!

This photo shows not just the engine – the incredible Magnussen supercharged LS-1 V-8  – but the incredible attention to detail in the engine bay. Note the smoothed firewall with fitted opening for the engine, done by the famous Marcel’s Custom Metal. Note the smooth fenderwells.  Note how clean it is – hidden wiring, custom air intake.  Everything custom, everything well designed and planned.

Beautiful and powerful!

Sumptuous Leather Interior in Brick Red and Tan, with matching German Squareweave carpeting. Individual power bucket seats, and console with hidden stereo!

IMG_5251.

Another custom and extremely subtle touch – the windshield is actually taller than the factory windshield by 2 inches, to get a cleaner, more open design.  That required custom windshield trim and glass, of course – a huge effort to make a small but significant contribution to the eye-pleasing nature of this car! Look at the photo below, and you’ll see the upper edge of the windshield matches the upper edge of the side window opening.

 IMG_5255.

The wood is lively and vibrant,  a sunburst of visual beauty!

IMG_5266.

The only external handle on the car is the one for the rear window hatch.

IMG_5294.

Even the gas filler flap is well thought out – it was re-located here, and it’s a magnetic push latch to open it.

Here we see the hidden stereo  and the A/C vents.

Let’s take in some of this beautiful undercarriage, and the high quality it displays – Chrome tubular A-Arms for the front suspension, Rack & Pinion steering gear, stainless dual exhausts, Overdrive automatic transmission, disc brakes, and clean throughout.

That’s the power brake line booster on the left, unobtrusively mounted.
