This car is a very nearly complete, and a very historically important car.  The chassis work is almost all done, as you’ll see below.  The body parts have been kept together, all major items and almost all of the minor ones are accounted for.  We couldn’t find one headlamp, and one fenderskirt.   There might be some other minor things missing, but overall, it’s a Rolls Convertible in builder kit form!  Experienced hobbyists will look at these photos and realize that the restoration has a significant headstart with the completed chassis, and that the bodywork would come together with the application of some restoration talent, money and time!

Here’s the Chassis plate WCB 22.  This is important, it validates the car as the Motor Show car.

LKN 555 – the Motor show license plate. Background on the Drop Head coupe design. Note the WR20 design number is the Gurney Nutting design number, not the chassis number!

Top left is this very car!

The Classic Rolls-Royce radiator shell.

The driver’s area.

6 Cylinder Rolls-Royce Engine.  The engine was redone by a well known Rolls / Bentley service shop in the area.  For show duty I think I would have the manifolds porcelainized.

Firewall with Bijur lubricator and coils mounted.

More chassis detail.  The frame rails have been nicely painted, and things are generally clean and tidy.  I think with minor effort the chassis could be made show ready, and ready to accept the coachwork.

Nicely finished axle and driveline components.

Beautiful fuel tank and straps.

Pretty!

Nicely finished backing plates.

Very clean front suspension components.

Nicely detailed intake side, with excellent porcelain on the manifold.  Minor detailing required for top concours events, but it’s still sharp as it is.

Mr. Lucas is in evidence here.

Looks to me like the thermostat was redone, but the actuator lever needs to be connected.

The shift gate – 4 speeds plus reverse.

Nice and clean underneath, too.

Here’s the forward undercarriage, also nice and clean.

Detail of the left side front suspension.

More body detail.

You can get an idea of the beautiful design of the car here.

Here we see the wings, as the English call the fenders!

Here’s the left side fenderskirt

Circular heater core

this is the heater ducting that spreads out on the floor of the car, and directs hot air where it needs to go.

Here’s one Lucas P100 Headlamp.  the other one appears to be missing, sorry about that!
