This 1957 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup was totally restored and modified by the professionals at D&P Chevrolet.  We have the receipts and the build photos to prove it!  It’s an extremely high content build, with GM Performance fuel injected  LS-1 Crate V-8, GM performance Overdrive Automatic 460LE Transmission, new frame, everything done to the highest standard, and with all the equipment that the modern street rod enthusiast expects.

We shot these photos on a hot day – and the vintage air conditioning system worked GREAT ! It was nice and chilly inside, and it can be driven on a hot day with the windows up!

IMG_8808.

Gleaming chrome – and note the aluminum radiator and A/C condensor peeking out, as well as the highly finished inner sheetmetal.

IMG_8809.

The color is super lively, and the metallic and pearl really highlight the body lines.

IMG_8814.

The stance is perfect, and the wheel and tire combination fit just right.

The GM Performance Factory Crate engine LS-1 was purchased new for this build. No junkyard parts here, this was new when it was built! I like how they put the Chevrolet Emblem on the engine cover too!

IMG_8827.

Extremely clean engine bay.  Note the smooth firewall, its beautiful under the hood!

IMG_8826.

Here’s the climate control side, where we see the A/C compressor, a modern rotary unit, and the nice firewall bulkhead for the A/C and heater hoses.

IMG_0369_2.

Here is a photo of the new LS-1 Engine when it was installed on the frame.  The LS-1 is quite a marvel – 5.7 liters, 345 cubic inches, Aluminum cylinder heads and block, Sequential Fuel Injection, 10:1 compression ratio, and Hydraulic roller lifters.  It puts out 340 horsepower and 350 Foot Pounds of torque.  All of the accessories are direct-mount, and they run on a single serpentine belt.

Glass smooth and super sharp, even on the underside of the hood!  Wow!

Yes all of the instruments work !

IMG_8837.

Aircraft style consoles and courtesy lamps! Note the headliner matches the seats. and the high quality paint on the inside metal!

IMG_8839.

There’s the A/C and heater control in the center lower dash, the remote controlled radio, and the high end speakers in the kickpanel.  Another nice feature if you look close is the stainless braided wire conduit from the doorjamb to the door for the power window wires.

IMG_8840.

Nice detail on the doorpanels.  Note the power window switch, the windows work great.

IMG_8845.

The maplewood bed is highly finished and absolutely beautiful.
