The Eldorado had special trim and script, and some mandatory options, including power vent windows and power 6 way seat. Eldorados also had a nice wood trimmed door panel for a more deluxe look.  Only 2,250 were built, and they cost $6,631 when new – compared to the $5,555 for the regular series 62 Convertible.

The whitewalls are the icing on the Eldorado cake.

Lots of chrome, and in excellent condition too!

Very straight bodywork too.

This car drives beautifully, I picked it up in San Diego, and put it through the southern California rush hour freeway torture test for 90 miles – and it performed brilliantly!

The owner kept detailed records in binders of all the work done, all the way back to 1975 !

Another great side view.  Note that the paint was done a long time ago, and shows some imperfections, buff-through, and chips.  The great thing about this car is it’s been well kept, and in a dry, rust free environment, and it is super, super straight.

The leather was done in the factory pattern some time ago, and it does show some age and cracking.  New Upholstery would go a long way towards upgrading this car.

there’s that great ’66 Cadillac dashboard!  The instruments all work. So does the radio on both AM and FM bands, although the speakers are crackly.

IMG_0130.

Rear seat – old leather in the correct pattern.

IMG_0133.

The special Eldorado wood panels on the doors are in excellent condition, smooth and glossy.

IMG_0134.

Excellent dash, with the exception of 2 small cracks on the dashpad by the speakers.

IMG_0132.

The seat is a 6 way power seat which works nicely.

The Cadillac 429 V-8, runs great!  Also note the dual master cylinder, standard on the ’66 Cadillac, but most of the lower priced cars didn’t get dual master cylinder until ’67.  Also visible here is the cruise control, which isn’t hooked up.

Excellent rocker panels, Eldorado trim and recent exhaust

IMG_0319 (800x533).

Lower inner fenders are excellent

IMG_0317 (800x533).

All original sheetmetal underneath. All great except the rear floor on the driver’s side, which shows a bit of rust, the carpeting must have captured water and held it.
