Here is a wonderful Super 8 Packard 160 , 1805 Touring limousine, just the thing for CCCA touring. Big 356 straight 8 engine. Overdrive transmission. Plenty of room, it's a 7 Passenger.

This car runs and drives like a new one.  It has the super high speed power of the 356 8 cylinder engine, the overdrive works perfectly, the brakes are new, the cooling system is perfect, I have driven this car long distances in 95 degree weather.  and it runs nice and cool.  Starts every time, hot or cold. 40 PSI oil pressure hot, higher when cold.  Perfect hydraulic lifters, which NEVER make any noise.  It is such an enjoyable driving experience!

Note the last year for free standing headlights in 1940.  This car was, in many ways, the transition to the modern era - it was a very, very modern chassis and engine, which lasted until 1950 essentially unchanged,  but the styling is obviously pre-war, with separate fenders, the tall grille, the sidemounts.
Wonderful styling.
More great lines.
Super!
Note the blue California license plate. It was sold new at the famous Los Angeles dealership of  Earle C. Anthony ,  and there is not a speck of rust anywhere
the paint job looks better in these photos than it really is.  It's an older paint job of, I would say, medium quality.  It's been freshly buffed and detailed, and it looks good, but it's not a show quality finish.
Oh man does this engine run great!  I checked the engine number, it's a correct 1940 engine.  Note the wiring harness that was replaced at some point with a correct reproduction harness.  That's important on a car that will be driven.
Sidemounts!
the interior was redone, and very nicely, too. subdued blue fabric with pinstriping, looks correct for the era.
There are the jumpseats.
All of the woodgraining was redone in back too, and it looks beautiful.
There's the divider window reveal detail.
More divider window.
Rear seat area is really nice.
Front seat - in good, serviceable condition, but not new looking.
The dash is original, with the inevitable plastic imperfections.
More dash detail.
Radio and heater.  The radio isn't making any music right now.
All of the guages work except for the gas guage and the odometer.
Pretty!
The bumpers have been re-plated.
This is a car that will provide miles and miles of enjoyable touring.
