Here it is - a black plate documented all the way back to new California car, with no rust ever!  Extremely original, from it's most recent owner of over 30 years!
Here's the factory invoice, showing Earle B. Harrell of Long Beach, CA, as the original owner.  Earl Paid $2908.89 for this beauty on June 28, 1948.  You can also see the dealer really loaded up the extras on this early postwar car, with grille guards, underseal, tail pipe extension, telecurbs ( curb feelers ) and an insurance policy.  Cars were in short supply right after the war, and it was a seller's market.
Here's the receipt
and the original DMV temporary ID tag until the plates were issued.
The invoice shows the engine number and serial number, which we still see today on the car, shown below.
It sat for a while, the former owner told me he drove it only a couple of thousand miles in 30 years!  So, we did the precautionary maintenance, - complete stem to stern brake job, with every component new or rebuilt, and a tune-up.  The car runs great, with excellent oil pressure, runs cool, charges properly, and it's ready to drive and enjoy now.  By the time you see this, there will be 4 brand new Denman whitewalls on the car.
What a great looking - and rare- car !
the Roadmaster was the top of the Buick line, and had the big 320 cubic inch engine, with 3 speed manual transmission.
Lookin' good!
Here's where the car's design really sparkes, that streamlined look is really great
Wow!
Beautiful in profile.
Here's a shot of the grille.  The chrome is all original, and I would say the bumpers have weakened up a bit.  Fine for an original, and they speak volumes of how well this car has been treated, but they're not perfect and new anymore.
Here we see the excellent and almost completely original interior.  Only the carpeting has been redone.
Perfect steering wheel and dash, and lustrous and beautiful gauges.
Wow!  The speedometer isn't registering now, however, so I'm not sure on the actual mileage.
Looks like new.  All of the gauges work properly, too.
wow!
Excellent radio face and dial, but no sound comes out.
It's always 7:15
Here's the original visor, and the roof antenna knob.
You can see a couple of blemishes on the doorpanel here.
Excellent rear compartment, with the exception of the upper part of the seat back, which has had some amateur repair.
Great headliner.
Pretty amazing.  Again, this car has obviously had super care, indoor storage, and good owners.
Original doorpanel, with a little distress on the lower right corner.
Nice trunk lid.
Original factory insulation.
The paint is nice and shiny, it may be mostly original.  there are some minor blemishes here and there, as shown in these 2 photos.
