Before we start with the car photos, let's look at the Documentation, shall we?  this car was purchased new in Hollywood, CA by John Carter.  John owned it until about 4 years ago, when he passed in on to his brother.  Between the 2 of them, this car was really babied - it only has 54,000 miles - and those are definitely the original miles - and it was well maintained and taken care of.  It went through a period of storage, and that's why the car has white plates, not the original black ones.  However, as we go through the documentation, I'm sure you'll agree this car is an original California car, with no question as to authenticity or originality !
there's the original protecto-plate
Here's the envelope it arrived in
Here are all of the payment stubs on the car loan
Here's the contract for the car from Bill Murphy Buick
Here's the actual factory order sheet for the car - I've never actually seen one of these.
And, the Actual original window sticker, showing all of the options.  Ol' John went all out on this car, he put everything on it!
Look at all these options !
And here it is now today!  that is one good looking and nicely equipped car!
The perfect family road trip mobile.
the wood applique is new and correct.
this is what really makes this car, the sport wagon windows - as we'll see later on, you get a really good view out of these.  they're soft-ray tinted, and a wonderful feature!
Awesome!
Sport Wagon!  Note they call it a sport wagon 400, but it in actuality has a 340 cubic inch high performance V-8
The electric rear window works great.
The Factory A/C works great also, nice and cold.
The power windows all work great too, nice and fast up and down.
It was repainted in the original red, in a decent but not perfect paint job.
That's the original interior!
And look how nice it is, with all of the factory embossing still beautiful
Here's the embossing near the window switch - isn't that cool?
There is some clouding on the instrument plastic up towards the 110 mph area.  A good reminder to just slow down a little, who do you think you are, Tazio Nuvolari?
Right side doorpanel
You can see the view from the upper windows here.
Perfect rear seat .  It should be noted that the power front seat mechanism is not working now.
Perfect rear doorpanel.
Here's the Buick rear accessory floormat, along with the box end that it came from !
That floormat kept the rear compartment in beautiful condition !
Even the tailgate stayed nice.
Below the floor, there is the jack and lugwrench in the long bag, and a bunch of little spare items - hoses, and repair parts in case something wore out on a long trip.  Ol' John thought of everything !
I love the view from the Vista Window.  Oops, maybe Vista is too much associated with Oldsmobile, I'll stop saying it now.  It's the Sport Window.
That is the original mileage.
Reasonably clean engine, but not show detailed.
Here it is from the right side.
The trim tag. R-R is for Apple Red.  171 Is for Blue interior trim.
It runs great - quiet, smooth, and lots of power.  If you were paying attention and reading the option sheet, you'll know this car originally had the AIR injection pump and rails, which are not seen here now.  Amazingly, the smog pump and rails were saved, and are included with the car !
Love it
Wow!
