A big year at Pebble Beach – Almost every one of the existing front wheel drive Ruxtons made the field, and, a postwar car won best of show! The last time that happened was in 1968, when a ’64 Maserati Mistral won. But more on that later, let’s look at the photos.

A Ruxton on the move ! Ruxtons were featured, and the turnout was nothing less than heroic – 16 Cars were listed in the program, of an estimated 19 cars known to exist . 1941 Mercedes-Benz 770K . A huge car with tremendous presence.
1958 BMW 503 Series II Cabriolet. Another example of Pebble Beach bringing out a car that we just don’t see at the cars & coffee – they bring us the most interesting cars to look at !
1939 Lagonda V-12 Rapide Drophead coupe. Note how the body colors are treated all the way into the fenderskirt!

The Tatra class was super interesting. Remarkable cars from a remarkable designer.
Nice try buddy, but your rat-rod style bulletnose Studebaker coupe has been diverted away from the tour d’elegance! And with that we’ll close our photos of the T d’E, and move along !
