this truck was originally owned by the Purex corporation in Los Angeles, California, manufacturers of Purex bleach and soap products.  in 1985, the  Dial corporation acquired Purex, and decided to clean up the original factory, including painting it.  The former owners of this truck were technical  painting contractors, as well as truck enthusiasts, and had a contract with Dial to paint inside the plant.  When they found out that Dial intended to scrap the truck, the contractors purchased it,  and restored it to its current beautiful state!

A great truck!

You can see some waviness in the hood, on both sides.  This truck was restored to be a fun driver, but it’s not a truck show trophy winner, I think the bodywork on the hood is a good example of that.

The wood stakes are gorgeous,  finished beautifully.  I don’t believe there is any confusion as to what brand of truck you are following!

Although it looks big, it’s not as big as you might think. Total bumper to bumper length is only 21.5 feet ( only a foot longer than a ’67 Cadillac series 75 Limousine!) The bed is 8 feet wide.
