Everything a Classic Car should have!  Custom bodywork with beautiful styling, six whitewalls,  and a powerful 8 cylinder chassis.  I like the angled windshield and landau iron too!  When the original owner stepped up for the Custom line that Lincoln offered, he spent more – $5,600 for the Judkins custom body versus $4,500 for the standard 5 passenger sedan.  He was paying for the exclusivity and custom features that were more impressive than the regular car!  And to put $5,600 in perspective, that was enough to buy a house in 1930

This car has been in the owner’s family since the 1950’s, passing from father to son over the years, and always in California since they owned it.

It’s a very nice older restoration, that has been maintained nicely.

This photo shows the subtle sunvisor, as well as the deep Prussian Blue color of the body, accented by black window reveals and fenders.  It’s lively in the direct sunlight, and a little darker inside.  Perfect for a formal car.

The padded top is nicely and correctly done.

A trophy winner a while back.

CUSTOM BUILT BY J.B. JUDKINS COMAPANY  !  This is body style 186A, which is the divider window version.  This tag is mounted on the seat frame below the front seat cushion.

The great Lincoln Greyhound hood ornament!

Nicely done front seat, original wood rimmed steering wheel, and clean dashboard.  The floor linoleum looks original to me.

Nice doorpanels

Nice headliner, note the courtesy lights are working.

IMG_7069.

There are some moth holes in the wool side panel above the armrest.  You can’t see it, but there are a few smaller moth holes on the rear seat.

Here’s the original Lincoln V-8, with 384 cubic inches and 90 horsepower!  It’s nicely finished and runs great, with excellent oil pressure.

IMG_7088.

Students of Lincoln may know that many years ago, an aftermarket aluminum intake manifold was built to allow a downdraft 2 barrel carburetor  for better breathing and to get the carburetor out from below and between the exhaust manifolds.  The Lincoln factory had a similar idea the following year, in 1931.

IMG_7085.

A view of the Lincoln starter-generator – which works great both starting and charging the electrical system!  And the shaft driven water pump, which looks nice and dry and which keeps the car running nice and cool.

IMG_7089.

The engine is nice and clean, and the engine number matches the chassis number, and fits in the correct range for 1930 Lincoln “L”.

This was a Newport Beach, California event from 55 years ago!  I like it when the cars have been in hobbyist hands for so long.

IMG_7090.

A great running car!

IMG_7053.

And still beautiful!

Impressive, custom built, and unique.
