The 1940 Cadillac 60 Special was the original personal luxury car – a stylish, powerful and relatively compact car designed for the owner-driver.

The Streamline Moderne style reached it’s zenith in 1940 – with smooth curves accented by chrome and implying motion.

And speaking of the chrome, it’s really nice!

What a dramatic profile!  Nicely accented with near-new wide whitewalls.

I love the color Black, especially when the bodywork is nice and straight!  These cars look right in black.  For too long, the hobby tolerated colors that were too bright, incorrect, etc.  when you look at a photo of the era, the cars were usually done in darker colors.

More nice chrome, with CADILLAC in script!

Nice on the right side, too.

Wow!  A nice car!

Nice, stock and authentic inside.  You’ll note this car came with radio delete, a fairly unusual item.

Nicely done seats in striped wool broadcloth.

Nice in back, too

Nicely done.

Doorpanels and all that interior chrome are nice too!

Note the visors properly done with the leather tabs.

Nice dashboard and steering wheel.  There are a couple of small cracks in the steering wheel.

Here’s the 346 cubic inch Cadillac V-8.  It really runs nice – smooth, quiet, and powerful.  It’s all stock and authentic.  I’ve driven this car both in town and on the highway, and it runs great!

Here’s the passenger side of the engine.

Although it’s not show detailed, it sure runs nice.

The trunk is nice, clean and rust free, especially at the historic 60 special weak points at the bottom edge.  This one is super solid!

The hubcaps are nice, the Cadillac Crest emblems are new, and the whitewalls are really, really white!

It’s a beautiful car, perfect for club events , tours and the like.  It’s a full CCCA Classic Car Club of America Classic.  Although it’s not a showcar, it’s a very nice car!
