This 1951 Hudson Hornet is absolutely gorgeous, with a full restoration of a solid, good car. The restoration is fully documented with photos and receipts.  It’s a super desirable car with Twin-H power ( Dual Carburetors ) that led Hudson to be Nascar Champions back in the 1950’s.

It’s in absolutely stunning condition, the quality of the work is extremely high. Let’s go through some of the work that was done!  Engine completely rebuilt and balanced, transmission rebuilt, complete new brakes, new 4 row radiator, gas tank cleaned and sealed, front & rear window seals replaced, floor, ceiling and trunk insulated, dash and garnish moldings woodgrained, 5 new 7.60 X 15 white wall tires,  converted to 12 volt with a new correct wiring harness, radio & heater motor converted to 12 volt, steering box rebuilt, new front coil springs and shocks,  bare-metal repaint,  all chrome and stainless inside and out rechromed, repaired or polished.  We’ll see photos of the receipts and bodywork progress later in this presentation.

All of the chrome plating was done, and done beautifully – inside and out.  The stainless trim was restored properly too!

The Coupe was the one used in NASCAR racing, and it’s the most desirable closed Hudson body style

Low and sleek! I like the accessory foglamps

I love how the lower trim carries through the whole car, including the short fenderskirts – it makes a low, sleek car look even lower and sleeker!

The triangle is Hudson’s trademark symbol – here it is on the hood ornament

Beautiful Stainless

IMG_1456.

Arrow straight, everything fits nicely. Wow!

IMG_1475.

the interior is beautifully done, with gorgeous dash woodgraining, wool carpeting, and beautifully finished seats.

IMG_1464.

Looks like new inside!  It’s just unbelievably nice!

IMG_1470.

Lovely dash and instruments.  Look at all that chrome, it’s all tip-top.

IMG_1472.

Close-up of the dash and woodgraining, it’s like new in here!

IMG_1478.

It’s even nice underneath the dashboard! that’s the heater/defroster in the center.

IMG_1476.

Excellent doorpanels!

IMG_1465.

Wow!

IMG_1466.

Excellent rear compartment

IMG_1480.

My only gripe on this car is some installation blemishes on the headliner.  It’s not a leak, it was done upon installation.

IMG_1479.

the rest of the headliner is beautiful!

IMG_1482.

And there is the Twin H power 6 cylinder engine – a powerhouse!  It’s been completely rebuilt, and runs great!

You might notice the alternator instead of the generator. It’s been upgraded to run on 12 volts, and done in such a way that all of the electrical accessories work. there are 2 gauges hidden in the glovebox to replace the warning lights.

IMG_1481.

Nicely detailed! Notice also the oil filter.

IMG_1484.

Here’s a shot of the twin carburetors, part of that Hudson high performance magic!

IMG_1483.

the engine was out when the car was painted, so you can see high quality paintwork all the way down the firewall.

IMG_1485.

Nice underneath the hood, too.

IMG_1492.

Nice trunk and spare

IMG_1493.

And nicely finished inner trunk lid, – the color  matches the outside of the trunk lid.

IMG_1491.

Beautiful tail lights & housings

IMG_1488.

Nice!

IMG_1486.

Beautiful hubcaps with the Hudson Triangle Symbol!

Photos of the in-process restoration.

IMG_1552.

Here are the receipts in the “Engine Rebuild” section of the folder.  There are lots of them, and they point to a correctly done engine!  And, in person, the engine lives up to the documentation!

IMG_1553.

The file is nicely organized and the receipts are extensive.
