The microfilm readout shows the car has Powerflite, 3.36/1 axle ratio, Highway Hi-fi ( record player ) power steering, 4 way power front seat, and electric window lifts.  It also confirms the Bob Snead dealership, cloud white paint, beige leather interior, and of course the original engine number.

No question about it, these Chrysler 300’s have a presence!  And they were a thoroughly engineered high performance car – Differences from the standard Chrysler ?  Let’s allow the Chrysler service manual , page 463 to explain:  ” The Chrysler 300B Engine is a modified Chrysler firepower engine. The modifications include twin four barrel carburetors, a new intake manifold, a full race camshaft, and mechanical tappets with the adjustment screws at the push rod end of the rocker arms, inner and outer high load valve springs, and removable exhaust valve seat inserts.  Also hardened crankshaft, heavy duty main and rod bearings, special cylinder head covers, air cleaners and silencer housing and distributor and spark plugs”   They also had heavier springs front and rear,  and higher internal transmission pressure in the Powerflite.

Here’s the “special cylinder head cover”  shown with the plug wire cover removed – the bumps between the spark plugs are there to provide clearance for the solid lifter adjusments at the end of the rocker arms.
