1931 Packard 833 Limousine, beautifully restored, offered by the Vault Classic Cars dealership. This car comes from an estate, where the owner since 1965 lovingly restored it, and went on to win every trophy there is to win!

Absolutely beautiful in Dark Packard Blue with black fenders and moldings! The paint job is 10 miles deep and smooth as glass, an extremely high quality effort!

This photo shows some great accessories – dual Pilot Ray driving lights that move with the steering wheel, Super 8 Packard headlamps with the green cat-eye jewel, radiator stoneshield, and Adonis mascot. And look at the reflections in the door, and how perfectly the doors fit!

Lots of beautiful Chrome!

The dual rearmounted spares pay off in this view – the fender sweep can be fully appreciated!

Dual Rearmount spares are the best – and so are dual tailights, an unusual and rare addition. Note They work great, too, the wiring on this car was properly done when it was restored.  In the 1931 Packard Tail light assembly the red was the tail light, the amber the brake light, and the clear the backup light.

The high quality and attention to detail and authenticity show up in this photo

Note the pinstriping surrounding the louver panel – a nice touch!

Those big giant Super 8 headlights – an option on the 833 – work great!

And so do the Pilot rays, controlled by a tasteful and period-correct looking switch under the dashboard.

There’s the Packard Mascot “Adonis”.   Packard took some inspiration from the ancient Greeks here.

Dual Wipers are on a central mount.

I think the Chauffer would have gotten in trouble for leaving his hat and gloves in the back seat when this car was new. And it does, indeed, look new here, correctly and beautifully redone. Wow!

IMG_0999.

Note the microphone, clipped just ahead of the arm rest – so you could tell the Chauffer “Dude, you left your hat back here!”

IMG_0995.

the jumpseats are correctly done and fully operational.

The dashboard is gorgeous, and correct! The instruments work except for the liqui-static fuel gauge. Even though the 1930 and 1931 Packards are very similar, they also have a number of differences – the 1931 Steering wheel was more “Art Deco”, the dashboard changed a bit, the hood latches became integral to the hood.

This car has an Altimeter, and it appears to work, it has the altitude of the Vault Classic Cars showroom right!

Excellent Black leather in front

The window surrounds are absolutely beautiful.

Beautiful Beautiful! and of course the screws are slotted oval heads with countersunk washer, just like they are supposed to be! That’s the kind of thing the show judges look for.

IMG_1001.

The 320 Cubic inch straight 8 looks exactly as it should.  It runs great too!

IMG_1008.

Here we are on the intake & exhaust side, with the extremely rare air cleaner and Detroit Lubricator carburetor showing.  Also note the new for 1931 Fuel pump mounted to the front of the engine, a HUGE improvement over 1930’s vacuum tank.

that’s the original firewall tag, showing new delivery from Earle C. Anthony in Los Angeles.
